Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and what we never do with it. Written to be read.
1. Who we are
helpo, Inc. (“helpo”, “we”) provides an AI-first customer support platform consisting of an embeddable chat widget, a knowledge base, and a helpdesk. This policy explains how we handle personal data for visitors to our website, customers using our dashboard, and end users interacting with a widget deployed by one of our customers.
2. Data we collect
Account data: name, email, company, and billing details when you create an account. Content data: documents, crawled pages, and catalog data you connect as knowledge sources, and the conversations that take place through your widget and inbox. Usage data: product analytics, logs and device information used to operate and secure the service.
3. Widget visitors
When a visitor uses a helpo widget on a customer's site, we process the conversation on that customer's behalf. Visitors are identified by an anonymous token, not third-party cookies. Our customer is the controller of that data; helpo acts as a processor under our Data Processing Agreement.
4. How we use data
To provide and improve the service, generate AI answers from your knowledge, route conversations to your team, bill your account, and communicate with you. Your content is isolated per organization and is never used to train models shared with other customers.
5. Sub-processors
We rely on infrastructure and AI providers to run the service, including cloud hosting, vector storage, model inference and payment processing. A current list of sub-processors is available on request and is included in our DPA.
6. Retention and deletion
Conversations and knowledge are retained for as long as your account is active or as configured in your retention settings. You can delete sources, conversations, or your entire organization from the dashboard; deletion propagates to backups within 30 days.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Email privacy@helpo.support and we will respond within 30 days.
